October Athlete of the Month...Brezden!



She's our athlete of the month and a total reflection of all that STF is. If you've ever been in class with Brez, she's always color coordinated but more importantly ALWAYS has a smile on her face and a high five ready to go. Her positivity is infectious and is directly reflected in her results! Thanks for being awesome Brez, congrats!! Keep up the hard work, you're an inspiration to everyone you meet! 1. What made you decide to start CrossFit?

Originally, I dropped in to “a bring a friend day” with my best friend at Chester STF in March 2016. My friend essentially dragged me to the class, because I always thought of CrossFit as something I could not do. However, after 60 minutes with Coach Trisha, I was completely addicted! At the end of that class, I asked Coach Trisha how to sign up, and I have not looked back since!

2. What are some of the biggest benefits or results you’ve seen since starting?

STF has made me a stronger version of myself, physically, mentally, and emotionally. The physical changes have been great — and probably the main reason I originally wanted to join STF after my first class with Coach Trisha. I have gained quite a bit of muscle and lost 10-plus pounds. However, I did not expect to gain the mental and emotional confidence that the STF coaches and community encouraged me to develop. I have found myself respecting the process of building muscle and pushing my body to limits I never thought were possible. Mind is definitely over matter! :) Along with the personal gains, I feel like I have an extended family and a support system. I can walk in to any of the STF boxes on some of my hardest and longest days, and I can always count on a smiling face from a coach or a fellow athlete to encourage me and pick me up

3. What keeps you coming back for more, and what would you say to someone on the fence about CrossFit?

Aside from my extremely addictive personality (haha), STF has given me an outlet to compete. I was an athlete growing up, so having CrossFit to compete against myself has been so rewarding. It is the one hour in my day that is completely dedicated to making myself better, and who can say no to that? To someone on the fence, I would say do not knock it until you try it. If you want to join a community entirely committed to helping you develop in to the best version of yourself, STF is the only “gym” that will help you do that. The community is second to none, and the possibilities for self-improvement are endless. Come in and check us out, and I promise you will not look back!

4. Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I blue bleed and white. I am a HUGE Penn State fan! :)
