Ringing In The New Year!!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and washed, dried, and packed away their party pants for a while!

So I’ve been thinking about this whole idea of a New Year’s resolution. I’ve never been big on it and have never made a resolution to begin on New Years Day. I always felt like it was a forced change I needed to make that I wasn’t really ready for so I would see it through. I get the whole concept of a new year, new beginning, or a time to make changes. It’s just never something I wanted to do on the first of the year.

So why should this year be any different? I’m starting today, January 2nd! I’ve decided that change is good but not on the first. Nope, there is no logic behind it. Just me going against the grain. LOL! A lot of you already made changes or set new goals for yourselves. You didn’t wait until the new year. You jumped right in and decided to challenge yourself through the holidays. That’s impressive and shows determination!

I’m sure there are many of us who wait until the New Year and come up with a lot of reasons why we can’t start something new or change something to make our lives better. I know I’ve done it. Let’s make this year different. Get out that “bucket list” and prioritize it. What is something you want to do or change that you haven’t done or tried yet? I need to clean up my eating. For the most part, I eat very healthy but lately I’ve been slacking off a little bit more than I should so it’s time for me to buckle down and get serious again. I would also like to get better at my gymnastic movements so that’s another goal for me in 2018.

Your resolution doesn’t have to be a change. Maybe it’s a trip you’ve been wanting to take but something keeps coming up and you haven’t taken it yet. Book that trip and make it happen. Maybe you would like to spend more time with family or friends. Set that goal and do it. Obviously, we can apply resolutions to eating healthier, losing weight, getting stronger, and working on our weaknesses. We all have something in our lives that we want to change, accomplish, or improve. No time like the present to make that happen. Let’s all find that one thing that is most important to us and resolve to change it in 2018!
